Aura linear classics begins
Aura, celebrating its 35th anniversary, has revived itself with the specially designed integrated amplifier VA 40 rebirth and is launching a new series. The "Linear Classics" series inherits the core concept of the Aura brand—simplicity and minimalism—while striving to create products that add a sense of high quality.
Following the first product, the power amplifier LCP 1, upcoming models include a pre/headphone amplifier and a successor to the VA 40 rebirth integrated amplifier. Each model adheres to the British-born design philosophy of Aura, delivering simple functionality and vibrant sound quality without altering the 55mm height and 430mm width of the face panel.
The amplifiers are meticulously designed and manufactured in Japan, with a focus on linear power supplies and analog technology. Furthermore, the precise metalwork from the globally renowned region of Tsubame-Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture is one of the key attractions of the Linear Classics. Combining pure analog design with a visually stunning aesthetic, these products exude a lasting sense of value that promises to endure well into the future.

The power amplifier that embodies traditional strengths.
The VA 40 rebirth had gained attention for its unique heat management system, which used large heat sinks with MOSFETs mounted on top, and a reversed main circuit board supported by rods underneath. This approach maximized the performance of power devices. Building on this, the LCP 1 further refines the cooling system to support large power devices capable of driving low-efficiency speakers.
By utilizing more than half of the lid's area as a heat sink, the LCP 1 enhances heat dissipation. It also improves separation by adding slits between the heat sinks to reduce L/R power device interference. With a single push-pull structure, this amplifier combines excellent response, low-level linearity, and powerful handling performance.
Upgraded Power Devices
The single push-pull configuration with MOSFETs is a hallmark of Aura's identity. The LCP 1 features EXICON-made EXW20N20 / ECW20P20 MOSFETs, offering increased output and compatibility with BTL connections compared to the devices used in the VA 40 rebirth. Their higher current rating ensures robust performance.
Custom-Made Flat Toroidal Transformer in the Power Supply
Aura's amplifiers are known for their superior sound quality, thanks to linear power supplies. For the LCP 1, a custom ultra-thin toroidal transformer fits within the 55mm-tall chassis. This high-quality transformer is meticulously wound, minimizing vibration noise. To achieve sufficient output with a single power device, large-capacity components were chosen for the power supply, including capacitors and output relays, resulting in ample driving capability.
This combination of innovation and craftsmanship sets the LCP 1 apart while maintaining Aura's iconic simplicity and superior quality.

High-Quality Components
The LCP 1 incorporates a variety of premium parts that elevate the original model to a new level. These include VISHAY metal film resistors, high-grade capacitors from the NICHIKON MUSE series, and gold-clad contact relays.
Functionality Designed for Expandability
The LCP 1 can be used as a monaural power amplifier through BTL connection. It is also equipped with trigger connection terminals for seamless integration with the upcoming LCC 1 pre/headphone amplifier. These terminals allow linked power ON/OFF functionality via dedicated cable connections.
