Headphone/preamplifier designed with a discrete, fully balanced circuit configuration.
The first product in the Linear Classics series—the power amplifier LCP-1—features Aura’s traditional single push-pull MOSFET design, delivering precisely the high sensitivity and swift responsiveness it was intended to achieve. Now joining the lineup is the control amplifier LCC-1, designed to complement the LCP-1 power amp. Yet its purpose goes far beyond simple pairing; the LCC-1 is built on an uncompromising design philosophy that prioritizes the essential core performance of a control amplifier handling delicate signals.
Equipped with a full-balanced high-performance headphone amplifier section, the LCC-1 embodies Aura’s unwavering commitment to analog amplification. Once you experience its performance, that passion will be unmistakably clear.
Aura linear classics
Made in Japan, where minimalism meets high performance.
At first glance, its compact size might suggest the use of a switching power supply—but every model in the Linear Classics series is equipped with a custom-designed toroidal transformer that powers a genuine linear power supply. Multiple power circuits and a dual-amplifier balanced architecture are implemented with no compromises. Within the limited internal space of each unit, only the essentials are retained, eliminating waste through purposeful design and precise engineering. Aura’s minimalist philosophy resonates deeply with Japan's craftsmanship culture.
By introducing strict dimensional regulations, the design achieves not only functional excellence but also profound meaning and visual elegance. Manufactured entirely in Japan, the Linear Classics series is produced with meticulous attention to detail—most of its processes are completed by hand, reflecting the spirit of true artisanal mastery.
Pure Analog Philosophy That Endures
The Linear Classics series is built on a foundational concept: a pure analog design centered around linear power supplies and analog circuitry. While providing region-specific transformers poses higher cost challenges, it is a necessary investment to deliver the low-noise, high-density sound that only true linear power can achieve. By eliminating digital inputs and outputs, the series substantially reduces noise interference. Externalizing devices equipped with fast-cycling digital chips is a deliberate decision—one that protects the integrity of the analog signal and ultimately ensures the long-term value of the product. In an era driven by disposability and fleeting trends, Aura’s commitment to analog purity is a quiet assertion of timeless design and enduring performance.
Aura LCC HeadPhone / PreAmp
●Dual-MOSFET Fully Balanced Circuit Design of Headphone amp
The LCC 1 is engineered as a fully balanced headphone amplifier using discrete dual-MOSFET architecture[YM1] . Each channel (Left/Right) is driven by two matched pairs of EXICON ECX10P20/ECX10N20 power devices—totaling eight MOSFETs. This configuration delivers high-end performance without relying on integrated circuits, ensuring pure analog signal amplification. Note: Only the initial balanced conversion stage uses an op-amp.

●Hand-Assembled Discrete Surface-Mount PCB
The main circuit board is built with a fully discrete surface-mount layout. All components are carefully installed by certified technicians in Japan, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and reliability.
●Innovative Internal Construction and Noise Countermeasures
The main circuit board is suspended from the top lid, a method previously adopted in the VA 40 rebirth model. Recognized for contributing to an open and natural tonal character, this board-suspension approach has also been implemented in both the LCP 1 and LCC 1 units. On the rear of the LCC 1 board, a copper foil sheet has been applied for magnetic shielding. The material for the top lid, which supports the board, was selected from options including ceramic, Corian, and solid aluminum, ultimately settling on pure carbon for its superior vibration damping properties and sonic performance.

●Power Supply with Custom-Made Toroidal Transformers
The power section of the Linear Classics series utilizes specially designed toroidal transformers to fit the internal volume of the units. Although preparing power transformers for 100V, 110V, 125V, and 230V may seem outdated, we believe that low-noise linear power supplies are a vital choice for analog circuitry. Additionally, the power supply for the motor that drives the volume control in the LCC 1 is completely isolated, using a compact transformer to ensure it does not affect the signal circuit.
●Artistic Enclosure with Meticulous Detailing
The Linear Classics series features a front panel made from extruded aluminum. At its center, a silver stainless steel panel with elegantly curved sides is precision-fitted into laser-carved recesses just millimeters deep, presenting a seamless flat surface. This silver panel, emblematic of Aura’s design identity, is applied to both the front and rear top sections of the LCC 1. Each panel undergoes chrome plating and is hand-polished to achieve its striking luster. The side panels are crafted from solid steel, and the LCC 1 chassis itself is constructed from a fusion of four distinct materials: aluminum, stainless steel, carbon fiber, and steel.

●Use of High-Grade Components
Premium parts such as VISHAY metal film resistors and high-end capacitors including UKA, UUQ, and UCQ have been incorporated throughout the unit to ensure uncompromising performance.
●Expansion-Oriented Features
The LCC 1 is equipped with trigger connection terminals that allow synchronized power on/off operation when linked with the LCP 1 via a dedicated cable.
