The main ingredient of Urushi fluid is an organic compound called "urushiol." When it is coated to wood or other surfaces, it polymerizes through an enzymatic reaction at room temperature to form a coating film, eliminating the need for heat treatment or organic solvents. Even today, in the 21st century, the final structure of the coating film is still unknown, but its unique properties such as beauty, durability, and heat retention are attracting attention from various fields. And also, Urushi has high insulating properties and is effective against static electricity, making it an ideal natural material for analog phono records.

□About the Production Process:

Urushi-Lacquerware is completed through multiple coating processes, from the base coat to the middle and top coats, on top of the bare surface, so that the living Urushi can be kept beautiful for a long time. To ensure the resonance of the Urushi, even the inside of the hole through which the turntable shaft passes is coated with Urushi. The craftsman applies the Urushi carefully so that the coating will be uniform, assuming that the Urushi will be finished after it dries. They have the advanced skills and experience of a limited number of skilled craftsmen who can apply lacquer to "Kakumono, Itamono" (square or flat objects), such as high-grade stacked boxes and slaughterhouses of Japanese traditional aricles), and their work requires a suitable environment of humidity and temperature. □About the Manufacturer:

Yasuhisa Urushi Kou Ltd., located in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan produces this product. This company founded in 1930 by Hisataro Yamamoto, a traditional Echizen Urushi-coating craftsman. For many years, the company has focused on producing high-end stacked boxes, small cup for New Year’s sake, Zoni bowls, and other New Year's products for department store customers.

In recent years, the company has combined the latest metal cutting technology with 3D machining of wood and traditional Urushi coating and Maki-e craftsmanship to develop hobby-related products such as wooden spoons, wine glasses, atomizers (perfume containers), and other luxury items such as top-quality chess sets and poker tables.
